What is Heeg?
Heeg is a new "holiday" or end of the year event celebrating finishing what we already have! The goal of Heeg is not to purchase new things but to use up what we've been holding on to, to make room for the new year! You are encouraged to celebrate your Heeg by posting your Heeg moments with friends (make sure to be thankful to the thing or task you heeged)!
Examples of Heeg:
Using up the last of a candle
Using the last two teabags in that container
Finishing a game you've been meaning to forever
Finding all those extra hotel shampoos and using them up
Deep cleaning your fridge
Taking that bag of clothes to goodwill finally
Finishing that project you've forgotten about
Watching the last few episodes of a show you're almost done with
Reading the book that's been on your shelf for ages
Things that are not Heeg:
Using up toilet paper or other daily necessities that you'd be using anyways (unless you wouldn’t normally reach for them)
Shaming yourself about something
Buying something new to consume
Starting something just for Heeg
FAQ:
Who can Heeg? - Anyone can heeg, you can share the concept of heeg with anyone!
Who made Heeg? - Me, I was inspired by another 'fake' holiday someone made called gyule
Why Heeg? - We receive a lot during the holidays and things pile up! Heeg celebrates the act of getting the full use of something through to the end without piling up half finished things.
